The Beginning of an Adventure on a Hill

Good Morning boys and girls, men and women, dogs and cats!

I'm so excited to be interning at Burnaby Alliance Church this summer. It's going to be a great experience where I can learn so much more about God and life as well as improve on my teaching, public speaking and communication skills which are always important in whatever career anyone undertakes.

SO, here are my expectations of the summer:

#1) I hope to learn more about God through reading and through teaching. If you didn't know, when you actually teach what you know, it is also a great method to help yourself learn! From this, I hope to be able to strengthen my knowledge of God and my faith in him through different books and devotionals.

#2) In addition to this, I hope to dedicate more time to worship and be able to maybe write a song or two if I have time :)
~ Sing to the LORD a new song, Sing to the LORD, all the earth ~ Psalm 96:1
I also hope to learn more about worship and as Darlene Zschech puts it; to be an "extravagant worshipper".

#3) HAVE FUN

Also, as of now, I don't know Howard... However, on stalking his Facebook for embarrassing pictures (to put onto a powerpoint LOL), he seems like a cool guy haha.

Last week was my first week interning here and here's a little run down of what went on:
--- So Michelle and I were (and are) the only ones here currently because the other two boys are skiving off in Asia, leaving us to do all of the planning. Just kidding, they're actually on serious business... i.e. vacation/labouring in Sims case. BUT they'll be back next week so it's all good :)
So yeah, last week involved a lot of brainstorming on my part for what activities we could do and in our breaks Michelle and I went to Starbucks during their happy hours!! Cheap Drinks!! I know.. so Asian :3 Another big chunk of the time was spent worshipping in the park with a guitar and doing lots of readings. Lots of fun, and I think I got a bit of a tan which we were sitting there... YAY!
But yes, I also ran my first prayer meeting which was a good experience - I was scared I didn't have much to say, but I ended up talking for a good amount of time~ Thank you God :)

So yes, that is what happened~ Lots of fun for the first week even though it was a little bit slow. I start running ROOTS this Sunday so I hope things will speed up a little after then :)

So this summer, we have resolved to:
1) Try update this blog every day - or at least twice a week!
2) Make a YouTube Channel and upload at least once a week (starting when the guys return),
3) Do a Book Study/Prayer Meeting at least once a week

I'm writing this here so we can be accountable to whoever is reading haha :)
Until next time! (tomorrow hopefully :P )
